Locate the engine oil dipstick, usually marked with a yellow or red handle. With the engine off, pull it out, wipe it clean, then reinsert it. Pull out again to examine the oil level. Ensure level falls between the two marks.
Check Tire Pressure
Get a reliable tire pressure gauge. Unscrew cap off tire’s inflation valve. Press the gauge onto the valve and read pressure. Check against recommended PSI found on the driver's side door jam or manual. Inflate or deflate as necessary.
Test Brake Fluid
Locate the brake fluid reservoir under the hood. Container is usually transparent, allowing you to see inside. If fluid is darker than new fluid or below minimum line, a change may be necessary. Refer to manual or consult professional.
